Postscript to the Albert Fleetwood story

Unfortunately, Jack Morgan passed away in August, 2001. At that time, Mike was planning the second tour for April the following year.

During that tour, Mike once again took the group to Albert's grave and performed a very special commemoration - this time laying a photo of Albert at the grave. The commemoration took on a special tone for Mike when one of the students remarked:

"It's ok sir, they're up there together now - they've finally met each other."

Mike & his wife, Roz, at Albert's grave on the Anzac 2002 tour

On the 2004 tour, Mike lay a special plaque given to him by his mother, Jillian.

And the story gets more interesting ....

On the 2006 tour, Mike's son, Tim, was a part of the tour group. Mike was very much looking forward to visiting Albert's grave with Tim and the Spirit of Anzac Tour group but he wasn't expecting another surprise when they arrived at the headstone ...

The plaque Mike had laid on behalf of his mother two years previously was still there.

Tim's eulogy was very emotional and Mike will remember Tim's last words forever:

'Some day I'll be sure to bring my son to your grave, Albert."

Taking the student groups to Albert's grave is very special for Mike. Having young people visit & remember Albert is, he feels, the greatest tribute he can pay to this family member who gave his all.
