1st Division Memorial - Pozieres This memorial is in the form of an obelisk and can be found on the Western outskirts of the village of Pozieres. It is situated near the former German stronghold called 'Gibralter', which was captured by the 1st Division early in the struggle for Pozieres.

2nd Division Memorial - Mont St Quentin This is the only divisional memorial that is not an obelisk. The striking memorial depicts a 2.5m digger in battle dress and stands in the village of Mont St Quentin. The village was fortified by the Germans in 1918, however in what was described by one British general as "the finest single feat of the war", it was captured by Australian troops on Sept. 2, 1918. The original memorial (photo below) depicted a digger about to bayonet a German eagle. However, this was destroyed by German soldiers during their occupation of France in the Second World War.

| 3rd Division Memorial - Sailly-le-Sec This memorial is in the form of an obelisk and stands prominently on a ridge north of the Somme River, near the village of Sailly-le-Sec |
|
| 4th Division Memorial - Bellenglise This is the easternmost of all AIF memorials. This obelisk stands on high ground where the formidable German Hindenburg Line barred the Allied approach. |

|
5th Division Memorial - Polygon Wood This memorial is set in very peaceful surroundings, a far cry from September/October 1917. The obelisk towers over the Butte British Cemetery in the middle of Polygon Wood. The memorial stands on top of a butte (a pre war firing range) used as a German strong point. This butte was captured by the Australians at a great cost during the struggle for Polygon Wood.
