AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL MEMORIAL
The memorial, which stands at the eastern end of the Villers Bretonneux Military Cemetery, is dedicated to the memory of those Australians who gave their lives in France during World War One.
The memorial is appropriately located near the French town of Villers-Bretonneux; a town which Australian soldiers liberated on the 25th April 1918.
The memorial itself is an imposing tower which is complemented by a huge wall with the names of 10 982 Australian soldiers who died in France and have no known grave.
