The Anzac 2002 Tour Group

group1.jpg (559718 bytes)

The tour group at the Mackay Cenotaph at the beginning of preparations, in early 2001.

These 23 students have made a great commitment to this project - as you can see, they have tour dress shirts that are worn on all public occasions and they gave up a great deal of their own time to fundraise, research and publicise the tour.

Each student had a number of men to research and, whilst overseas, they located the grave, conducted a short commemorative service and then photographed the grave.  These photographs were then presented to the fallen soldier's family on our return.

As well, the students have filmed their experiences at the Anzac Day commemorations and they will produce an educational video that will be shared with students around Australia.   Each student has kept a diary and they plan to write a book which details the tour and the personal feelings they experienced.

It may be interesting to check out the other website pages to see the group in many special settings around the world.
